Since 1928, every evening at 8 pm, the Last Post Ceremony has taken place under the Ieper Menin Gate to pay homage to those who fell defending the Ieper Salient during the First World War. Aboard the Lille Region Tour, embark for an emotional journey that will take you back to some of the darkest moments of European history.
On the way to Ieper, the Lille Region Tour will take you to several memorials such as the Berks Cemetery Extension, Prowse Point Cemetery and the Christmas Truce monument, commemorating the 1914 Christmas Truce in Ploegstreet. You will also visit the "Hill 60" site in Zillebeke, where you will be able to see the remains of bunkers and craters, witnesses to the battle that took place there in 1915.
You will arrive in Ieper before the Last Post Ceremony takes place, so you have time to visit the historic city centre, which was reconstructed after the Great War.
