The Chœur Régional's Christmas concert will be as magical as ever, and this year it will be joined by one of its loyal partners, the Orchestre Lalo from Lille Conservatoire.
The first part of the concert will travel across Europe, featuring traditional Christmas songs (Mendelssohn's Hark the Heral Angels Sing, What Child is This?), a cycle of traditional Spanish songs, Cinco Villancicos (Albert Guinovart), and a cycle of three English carols, Three Carols (Peter Warlock).
Because joy is contagious at this time of year, the intermission will be an opportunity for the audience to join the choir in singing traditional Christmas carols (selection to be announced: Mon beau sapin, Les anges dans nos campagnes, Vive le vent...).
The second half of the programme will feature more festive family favourites: Gold und Silber by Franz Lehar (waltz, orchestra solo), Mary Poppins by the Sherman brothers, and many more surprises!
