The first European station of the Transiberian Festival created by Jean-Claude Casadesus and Marina Bower will be inaugurated in December 2019 in Lille and will be devoted to Youth.
This project was a joint idea by Jean-Claude Casadesus  and Vadim Repin, the famous Russian violinist who created the Trans-Siberian Art Festival in his native Novossibirsk in 2014 with the aim of building a unique musical journey, bringing continents together through this event.
Three days of musical performance will take place from 12 to 14 December 2019 in the prestigious Nouveau Siècle hall on the theme of transmission : masterclasses for conservatory students will be given by Vadim Repin, Alexander Kniazev and Andrei Korobenikov ; two chamber music concerts will combine the generations with these legendary artists and young students…Above all the Festival will mark the establishment of the Transiberian Festival Youth Orchestra, bringing together the best young professional musicians from the Orchestre des Jeunes d’Île-de France, the Urals Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Jeune Orchestre du Hainaut-Cambrésis. Jean-Claude Casadesus and the young conductor David Molard will share two symphonic concerts, alongside Vadim Repin, Alexander Kniazev and Nicholas Angelich. This unique musical ensemble, combining the Russian string instrument school and the French wind instrument school at the highest level of excellence, will perform at other stations of the Transiberian Festival, thereby encouraging transmission and sharing for the future.
