Gourmet Lille, a feast for the palate

Lille is a favourite destination for food lovers: according to the 2017 survey by the gourmet information website Atabula, it’s the fourth best city in France for eating well. There’s a wide variety to choose from, ranging from fast food to foreign specialities and Michelin-starred eateries (two companies were recognised in the 2019 edition of the Michelin Guide).

Driven by inventive, talented young chefs grouped together within the Mange, Lille! collective,, Lille has become a true gourmet destination. They regularly make the news in the Michelin, Gault & Millau and Fooding guides. Every September, the Mange, Lille! culinary festival attracts thousands of food lovers.

For those in search of tradition, head for the local cafes to discover traditional, generous, hearty Flemish dishes.

Gourmet Lille also means renowned craftsmen, chocolatiers, pastry chefs and cheese makers. In the districts of Old Lille, Centre, Wazemmes or Lille-Moulins, lively markets are there for gourmets to enjoy.
