For this 2023 season, the Gare Saint Sauveur is hosting an exhibition that will delight young and old alike.
Tidy up your room! is a proposal by the artist Jean-François Fourtou, a regular visitor to the major seasons of lille3000 (The house that fell from the sky during Fantastic in 2012 and the world of the Nanitos for Utopia in 2022).
In this exhibition, Jean-François Fourtou presents his first childhood bedroom, which he occupied until he was four years old, in the family flat in the heart of the old working-class district of Paris: Ménilmontant.
The artist invites the visitor to return to the magical world of childhood, to lose his adult bearings for a time in a monumental children's room, six times larger and more disordered, emerging incongruously and spectacularly from the concrete skeleton of the station!
Like a Lilliputian or an animated toy, come and take shelter under the XXL school desk, wander through the labyrinthine passages, or rest against a human-sized teddy bear. Let yourself be guided by the strings of a giant carpet that transforms into lianas populated by animals, which will spread through the space like a thread, the thread of time, life and the imagination.
A playful, immersive exhibition, which can be experienced as a real plunge into the world of childhood, with nostalgia and tenderness. Here, time stands still in this exhibition that can be experienced, touched and played with, in a whirlwind of emotions and joy.
