At the junction of the cities of Roubaix, Tourcoing and Wattrelos, the Union is one of the largest urban renewal projects in France. Since 2007, SEM Ville Renouvellée has been transforming 80 hectares of old industrial and residential areas from the beginning of the 20th century into an attractive district, finely mixing economic activities, facilities, housing and natural areas. Through a bus tour in the heart of this ever changing area, cross the flourishing history of the district, whose destiny has rocked during the construction of the canal. From rich hours of the textile industry to the safeguarding and rehabilitation of the industrial heritage, you then discover the eco-district project and how a city can change its face, and invent a future based on the traces of past.
