This bus tour offers you a dive into the glorious epic of textile in the metropolis, going back over the history and evolution of this industry that has so much shaped the landscape, architecture and lives of the inhabitants of our cities. You will discover symbolic places of this rich local heritage, today transformed or waiting for a new life. You will visit among others the former Motte-Bossut spinning mill which became the Labor World Archives in Roubaix.

Discover the memorial sites of the First World War in Lille and Seclin. Both cities were occupied by German troops for most of the duration of the conflict. If Lille has not been razed, it has suffered major destruction and had to live in Germany for 4 years. Discover the places and monuments that keep the memory. You will then cross the city of Seclin, designated "Etappen-Kommandantur" by its geographical position, which preserves until today infrastructures, graffiti of soldiers, military cemetery as well as its Fort, which reminds the impact of this occupation.

At the junction of the cities of Roubaix, Tourcoing and Wattrelos, the Union is one of the largest urban renewal projects in France. Since 2007, SEM Ville Renouvellée has been transforming 80 hectares of old industrial and residential areas from the beginning of the 20th century into an attractive district, finely mixing economic activities, facilities, housing and natural areas. Through a bus tour in the heart of this ever changing area, cross the flourishing history of the district, whose destiny has rocked during the construction of the canal. From rich hours of the textile industry to the safeguarding and rehabilitation of the industrial heritage, you then discover the eco-district project and how a city can change its face, and invent a future based on the traces of past.
