The Tourist Office of Lille makes you discover the history of the Ypres Salient, strategical place harshly fought during the different battles of the First World War. This land is today strewed with military cemeteries and monuments, raised in remembrance of the sacrifice of those soldiers that came from the entire world. Visit with both guide and driver in a minivan of 6 seats.

On the way to Ypres, you will visit several memorials such as the Berks Cemetery and the Christmas Truce Memorial, commemorating the 1914 Christmas Truce in Ploegsteert. You will also cross the Hill 60 site in Zillebeke, where you will be able to see bunkers and craters, remains of the battles that took place there during the war.
At the end, the town center of Ypres, magnificently rebuilt after the conflict, with its majestic Lakenhallen (former textile market building), will allow you to end the day with a moving moment: the Last Post ceremony. It takes place every evening at 8pm, since 2nd July 1928, under the arches of the Menin Gate, famous monument of the Commonwealth along the former road to the frontline.
