**From September 7, 2025 to February 13, 2026, the Musée du Terroir takes a look back at the history of the frontier in our countryside at the beginning of the 20th century
Although the Belgian border does not pass through Villeneuve d?Ascq, Ascq is 7 km from the Belgian border, and for many years was home to a customs barracks.
The Musée du Terroir is therefore dedicating its new temporary exhibition to the customs officers and fraudsters who long roamed our countryside.
Discover the ingenuity of fraudsters and the methods used by customs officers to catch them.
With objects from the collections of the Musée du Terroir, the Musée de la Vie Frontalière in Godewaersvelde and the Musée des Arts et Traditions Populaires in Wattrelos.
Monday to Friday, 1.30 pm to 5 pm
1st Sunday of the month and public holidays, 2.30pm to 5.30pm.
Included in museum admission.
Free admission on 1st Sunday of the month and on Heritage Days.
