Benoit and Bo are a Franco-Chinese artist duo whose work is marked by the richness of human diversity and a unique aesthetic, combining Asian and Western influences. At the heart of the Passage de l?International, their luminous "Happy Heads" promise travelers and visitors an unprecedented immersive experience. This ambitious artistic installation aims to metamorphose the interior space of this hall in the Fives district into a place of celebration, inspired by Asian light festivals.
Under the hall's high ceiling, inflatable "Happy Heads", inspired by traditional Chinese folk-theater masks, are transformed into giant lanterns. Luminous spirals, reminiscent of incense spirals hung in temples, float around them. Together, they create an ethereal landscape where light and color invite reverie.
By looking up at this artificial sky, passers-by are invited to suspend the course of their day for a moment, to indulge in a moment of surprise and beauty. By introducing the saturated aesthetics typical of Asian temples into the everyday life of Fives, Benoit and Bo offer a new perspective on our environment and on how art can influence our perception of everyday life, transforming it into a place of colorful celebration.
