Launched in September 2024, the Junior Ballet de l?Opéra National de Paris embodies the living transmission of this illustrious institution?s tercentenary savoir-faire. Featuring twenty-four promising young dancers aged 18 to 25, this show offers a fascinating immersion in French choreographic excellence.
Under the direction of José Martínez, these artists alternate rigorous training with high-level stage performances. Their two-year course aims to perfect their mastery of the great classical repertoire while exploring contemporary creation. From January to April 2025, the dancers will take part in performances of _La Belle au bois dormant_ at the Opéra Bastille, before performing for the first time at the Opéra Royal de Versailles in June 2025, a highlight heralding a tour of France and the rest of the world.
A veritable springboard for dancers from all over the world, the Junior Ballet also welcomes students from the Paris Opera Ballet School wishing to perfect their skills. This exceptional troupe, bringing together the stars of tomorrow, performs as part of a dedicated off-site program, combining masterpieces from the repertoire and original creations.
The program presented at the Colisée illustrates the diversity and virtuosity of these young performers. An exceptional evening of high standards, grace and artistic transmission.
