immersive project based on the opera Bluebeard?s Castle by Béla Bartók (1881-1945)_
_Livret by Béla Balázs (1884-1949), first performed in Budapest in 1918_
_Created in 2024 in Leipzig_
The composer tells the story of Judith, who discovers Bluebeard?s fears and loneliness behind seven doors of his castle. The director links this solitude to that experienced by many elderly people, and integrates their testimonies: the voices of the inhabitants of the Hauts-de-France region resound at each doorway.
The audience moves freely in the middle of the show, allowing them to get up close and personal with the artists.
