The "Mercredis du Parvis" project is a citizen initiative aimed at creating a regular, friendly monthly gathering open to all local residents, whatever their origins, circumstances or allegiances. Every 2nd Wednesday of the month, the square in front of St. Elisabeth?s church would become a lively and welcoming space dedicated to encounters, creativity, games, knowledge-sharing and solidarity.
This initiative is part of a dynamic of proximity and inclusion, proposing activities that are accessible, varied and intergenerational. Its aim is to encourage civic involvement, promote human links and breathe new life into a symbolic and central place in the life of the neighborhood: the church square, seen here not only as a physical space, but also as a symbol of openness, dialogue and sharing.
The "Mercredis du Parvis" program has a number of objectives, and responds to an identified need for conviviality, social ties and local involvement:
Strengthen social cohesion between residents by offering them a framework conducive to meeting, discussing and building lasting neighborhood relationships.
Offer a free space for expression, relaxation and sharing, where everyone, whatever their age, origin or situation, can feel welcomed, listened to and valued.
To give the church forecourt a living, collective dimension, by transforming it from time to time into a cultural, artistic, playful and participatory space, while respecting its identity and its spiritual or heritage vocation.
Encourage local residents to get involved in cultural, creative or solidarity-based activities, enabling them in turn to take part in these afternoons by proposing or running workshops.
Encourage volunteerism and local self-organization, with the aim of creating a genuine neighborhood dynamic based on solidarity, benevolence and co-construction.
Target audience :
The project is aimed at a wide variety of publics, with a view to maximum inclusion and openness to all generations:
Local residents, with a particular focus on children, young people, families, the elderly and the isolated.
Passers-by and parishioners, who can discover the activities as they move around or are regularly present around the church.
Local associations, informal groups and institutional or cultural partners, who can enrich the project by proposing workshops, relaying information or participating on an ad hoc basis.
Frequency: The second Wednesday of the month, on a regular basis, to establish a friendly and reassuring habit for participants.
Times: Reception and activities would take place between 2:30 and 5:00 pm.
Location: The church forecourt, outdoors, easily identifiable and accessible to all.
Supervision : The activities will be led by the local permanent staff and by one or more motivated and available volunteers. Logistical support, however modest (access to a plug, with agreement), will help to ensure the long-term viability of the activities.
