### Odette Pauvert. Painting as ambition at the time of Art Deco.
Unjustly forgotten, Odette Pauvert (1903-1966) enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame during the Roaring Twenties. In 1925, she became the first woman to win the Grand Prix de Rome for painting, the ultimate accolade for any artist destined for an official career. This exhibition follows the singular itinerary of an artist who, from Paris to Rome via Spain and Greece, pursued a resolutely classical and decorative ambition throughout her career.
Organized with exceptional loans from the Beaux-Arts de Paris and the Villa Medici in Rome, and in collaboration with the artist?s family, this retrospective marks La Piscine?s strong commitment to celebrating women artists. It is organized as part of Fiesta, the 7th edition of lille3000.
The exhibition runs from October 11, 2025 to January 11, 2026.
