Roots Rock Roubaix #2 avec Soul Iration

On Saturday, October 10, 2026, La Condition Publique in Roubaix will host an evening that is already shaping up to be one of the major events on the roots and dub scene in France. At a time when sound system culture is experiencing a real resurgence, Roots Rock Roubaix has chosen to return to the basics: a handcrafted sound system, deep bass, authentic artists, and a sense of community centered around music. To bring this experience to life, Soul Iration has enlisted Firmly Rooted Soundsystem, a British collective renowned for the quality of its sound system and its commitment to the founding values of sound system culture. More than just a sound system, each Firmly Rooted session is designed as a total immersion, where every frequency finds its place and the bass becomes a language all its own. Headlining the event is a key figure on the international scene: Aba Shanti-I. A true living legend, he will deliver an exceptional four-hour set, true to his reputation. For over three decades, his selections, his exclusive dubplates, and his deeply spiritual approach have made each of his appearances a major event. A rare sight on the continent, each of his visits is eagerly anticipated by dub enthusiasts from around the world. The evening will also feature Martin Campbell, one of the iconic voices of British reggae. As the creator of tracks that have become UK Roots classics, he will perform his songs accompanied by the power of the sound system, in a setup reminiscent of the golden age of London sessions. To kick off the festivities, Soul Iration will take the stage with a set built around the foundations of reggae, rocksteady, roots, and dub, accompanied by singer S?kaya, who is closely tied to the history of Soul Iration. In a venue as unique as La Condition Publique—a former industrial wasteland transformed into a cultural space—all the ingredients seem to be in place to offer an experience true to the original spirit of this culture born in JamaicaEFque and developed in the United Kingdom: a sound system conceived as an instrument, carefully curated selections, committed artists, and an audience united by a shared vibe. More than just a concert, Roots Rock Roubaix champions the most authentic aspects of sound system culture: a celebration of sharing, music, and bass. On October 10, Roubaix will vibrate to the rhythm of roots and dub.
