The São Paulo Dance Company, led by Inês Bogéa, takes to the Colisée stage for an exceptional evening featuring three key works from its repertoire, testifying to its creative energy and international artistic openness.
Opening the evening, Nacho Duato?s _Gnawa_ explores the links between the human being and the universe through the four fundamental elements: water, earth, fire and air. Set to spellbinding music blending African and Eastern influences, the dancers evolve in a choreography where gravity and contact with the ground become essential, celebrating spirituality and the mysteries of the world.
This is followed by _Umbó_, created by Leilane Teles, a veritable ode to the deep desire to achieve what we aspire to be. Evoking Brazilian artistic figures such as Tiganá Santana and Virginia Rodrigues, the work questions inspiration and creation. Between the fluidity of bodies and musical intensity, Umbó celebrates freedom and the infinite metamorphosis of identity.
Finally, Cassi Abranches? _Agora_ concludes the program with a reflection on time in all its forms: memory, rhythm and energy. Set to a score blending Afro-Brazilian percussion and contemporary rock, the dancers deliver an explosive performance, awarded the Prêmio APCA in 2019.
With _Gnawa, Umbó_ and _Agora_, the São Paulo Dance Company offers a choreographic journey where tradition and modernity meet in a vibrant celebration of dance. A must-see evening to immerse yourself in the richness and virtuosity of the Brazilian scene.
