The Church of Saint-Maurice, just a stone's throw from Lille Flandres station, was erected between the end of the 14th and the end of the 19th century in the form of a hall church, with vessels of equal height and width.
This church, with its sober, flamboyant architectural decor, owes its apparent homogeneity to Philippe Cannissié (1799-1877), the city's architect from 1849 to 1867, who oversaw the restoration of the building.
