Alternative locations Discover these places that combine culture and conviviality

Want to explore the city off the beaten track? In Lille and its metropolitan area, discover the most unusual cultural and leisure venues. From electro concerts in a former train station, to shows in converted factories, to stand-up comedy in a convent, Lille has plenty to surprise you!

The station Saint Sauveur

Formerly a freight station, the Gare Saint Sauveur is now a trendy, inclusive venue opposite Parc Jean-Baptiste Lebas. Throughout the year, it hosts contemporary art exhibitions, shows, concerts, festivals, workshops for young audiences, cinema screenings and many other events open to all.

Visit Tripostal

Built in the 20th century to sort the city’s mail, the Tripostal is located between the Lille-Flandres and Lille-Europe stations. The “Lille 2004, European Capital of Culture” event prevented its scheduled destruction and gave it a second life. Dedicated to contemporary art exhibitions, the Tripostal has become a major space for contemporary creation. It is also a place for performance and celebration, hosting a number of flagship exhibitions, notably in conjunction with lille3000.

The cinema the hybrid

Sit back and relax on the sofas in this completely unusual cultural venue, dedicated to the audiovisual arts. Created in 2007 near Parc Jean-Baptiste Lebas, it promotes original independent creations and short films. In addition to short films, L’hybride offers a multi-disciplinary program, including themed evenings, ciné-débats, screenings for young audiences, virtual reality and image education workshops, all geared towards encounters and exchanges between young talent and professionals.

Le Couvent de la Visitation

Inaugurated in 2023, this highly original site is located in the Pile district of Roubaix. As you enter, discover the “Cour des Miracles”, a meeting point for all publics, which opens onto a splendid covered terrace.

Find the local gourmet market, organized around the cloister and garden, the fruit of a collaboration with Les Petits Frères des Pauvres. Shop with local artisans in the fashion and tattoo cells. Two spaces, “La Cène” and “Le Parloir”, host artistic and cultural events.

La Condition Public

La Condition Publique, a former textile storage facility with exceptional architecture in the Pile district of Paris, has become a third-party cultural venue. Its musical program features local artists, as well as numerous live performances and workshops.

Its temporary exhibitions are generally highly engaging, conveying strong messages to all audiences. It’s a place for exchange and encounter, with free access to its FabLab.
