The Théâtre du Nord is one of 38 National Dramatic Centers throughout France. A major player in the decentralization of theater in the Hauts-de-France region, its mission is to bring the best of French and international theater to the widest possible audience.
With two fully-equipped theaters - the Grand'Place theater in Lille and the Théâtre de l'Idéal in Tourcoing, a professional drama school - the Ecole du Nord - and a large set-building workshop, the Théâtre du Nord is a Centre Dramatique National (CDN).
A collective of authors and artists, including young directors, is committed to this new artistic adventure. The Théâtre du Nord aims to be a place of creation, gathering and openness. Because a theater must be a beehive, all audiences, from the youngest to the most expert, must be nourished and discover other art forms (music, circus), essential in this space of sharing that is the theater.
On-site café-restaurant and bookshop.
