Description

Compagnie Nouveau Jour | Written and directed by A%EFla Navidi 4,211 km—that’s the distance between Paris and Tehran, which Mina and Fereydoun traveled to seek refuge in France. Their daughter Yalda, born in Paris, recounts this life in exile, their struggle for freedom, and the perpetual hope of returning home. Through this intimate work of autofiction, A%EFla Navidi sheds light on her own family’s story. Yalda navigates between her parents’ legacy and French society, exploring the complex feeling of not belonging anywhere. Thanks to a fluid, cinematic structure, the staging takes us on a journey from one era and one country to another in the blink of an eye. A two-time Molière Award winnerat the Molières and brought to life by six remarkable actors, this work—blending poetry and humor—offers a deeply moving reflection on exile, identity, and the passing down of traditions.
