Description
**From November 23, 2025 to June 28, 2026, the Ascq 1944 Memorial will be exhibiting the work of 10 street artists who have taken up the theme of the Ascq massacre
The Memorial presents the exhibition "Ascq 44", conceived by the association Terres du Nord, Terre de combats. Works by regional street art artists revisit key moments of the tragic night of April 1 to 2, 1944, when 86 men from Ascq were executed by the SS.
Created using a variety of techniques, including painting, graffiti and drawing, the works are accompanied by texts and poems. The paintings are set against the text of telephone exchanges between Elie Derache at Ascq station and Mr. Moity at Lille station. This poignant minute-by-minute account of events can also be listened to on the telephone exchange in the museum.
wednesday afternoons from 1:30pm to 5pm and 4th Sundays of the month and public holidays from 2:30pm to 5:30pm
