Description
How did the idea of sharing scientific knowledge with as many people as possible come about? From the earliest initiatives in science communication to policies on scientific culture, this presentation will highlight the emergence of science centers and CCSTIs (Centers for Scientific, Technical, and Industrial Culture)—major players in the democratization of knowledge—and will examine their role in the dialogue between science, culture, and society. A discussion to understand how a culture of knowledge sharing—as well as the sharing of the questions that knowledge raises—has developed in France.
