Le Bourgeois gentilhomme

Jérémie Lippmann tackles Molière’s classic with joyful audacity, giving this social satire a surprisingly modern resonance. Monsieur Jourdain, a wealthy bourgeois man obsessed with the nobility, surrounds himself with tutors to learn its ways, quickly falling prey to self-serving flatterers. Set against a shifting stage design and set to music that glides from Lully to contemporary tones, this comedy-ballet transforms into a total theatrical experience. Jean-Paul Rouve lends his tender humor and disarming humanity to this sincere dreamer. Surrounded by an exhilarating cast, he brilliantly carries this dazzling comedy in which everyone will recognize a bit of their own madness.
