Stage "A la cour d'Orient"

During fall break, we invite your children to spend two days at the King of Jerusalem’s court to discover the refined lifestyle of lords and knights. After creating a seal of Saladin and a wooden shield from the Crusades era, the children will make a set of alquerque (the ancestor of checkers) on leather before learning how to play. Calligraphy will certainly be on the program, and recipes for confections made with candied fruit will introduce them to the flavors and spices of the Eastern Middle Ages. Many other activities—still in the works—are planned for these two days, which will follow our major “Terre d’Orient” festival from the previous weekend. Open to children ages 7 and up.
