As part of Fiesta, the 7th edition of lille3000, the Musée de l?Hospice Comtesse will host the exhibition _The distorted party_. A former religious institution offering care and shelter to those in need, the site is imbued with ambivalence, which is reflected in the exhibition themes: celebration and reflection, chaos and beauty, distortion and clarity.
the distorted party_ rethinks celebration and conviviality in relation to contemporary challenges: climate change, social inequality, political instability and the anxieties that persist in a post-covid world. These shadowy areas underline the fragility of human existence, and contrast with moments of celebration. The euphoria of these moments is sometimes accompanied by introspection or underlying unease, creating a surreal image of an underground party
More than a historic sanctuary, the Hospice Comtesse becomes a canvas on which the senses of celebration are intertwined and renewed. The peaceful architecture of the site contrasts sharply with the modern scenography and the overflowing, sometimes disturbing energy of the works.
