La maison Folie hospice d?Havré invites the public to immerse themselves in the world of jazz art: photographers, authors, illustrators and musicians come together at la maison Folie to express the richness of this musical movement.
As part of the anniversary festivities of the Tourcoing Jazz Festival, maison Folie hospice d?Havré, a key partner of the festival, offers a cross-section of this universe:
"40 Bubbles of Jazz" is an exhibition organized by the JML ARTS gallery, and opens the visit to the hospice d?Havré. This project, initiated to mark the 40th anniversary of the Jazz à Vienne festival in 2021, brought together 40 renowned authors and 40 contemporary illustrators, with jazz as the starting point.
We extend these encounters by crossing the views of artists associated with the Tourcoing Jazz Festival, Hervé Escario and Didier Péron, photographers, and Louh-Ann Alexandrenne, illustrator.
Each will offer an immersion into the 40 years of the Tourcoing Jazz Festival, paying tribute to all the artists who have passed through Tourcoing.
Maison Folie also wanted to pay special tribute to all those Grandes Dames du Jazz who have been under-represented in musical programming for so long. They will occupy a special place in the exhibition.
During their visit to the exhibition, the public will be immersed in a jazzy musical atmosphere thanks to a soundtrack created in partnership with the music department of the Malraux multimedia library, and will be able to discover the three drawn concerts co-produced for the 2018, 2019 and 2020 editions by Jazz à Vienne and the Angoulême International Comics Festival.
This exhibition complements other highlights organized by the City of Tourcoing on the anniversary of the Tourcoing Jazz Festival, in media libraries, at the Théâtre Municipal Raymond Devos and at the Conservatoire de Musique
