Lille's city center was hard hit by the destruction of the First World War. By the early 1920s, Lille merchants were building spacious, bright new stores in the heart of the pedestrian streets. Let us tell you the story of these stores of yesteryear, from the café owner to the shoemaker, from the garage owner to the cinema operator.
