As the first movement to challenge all forms of authority, anarchism has been at the forefront of issues that are highly relevant today.
Spanning more than a century and a half of history and creativity, this exhibition explores the connections between anarchist movements, anarchist thought, and the arts in all their forms—painting, newspapers, posters, fashion, music, etc.—from the 19th century to the present day.
The exhibition benefits from the exceptional support of the Musée d’Orsay, the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, and the Archives Signac.
It is co-produced with the Museum of Fine Arts and Archaeology in Besançon, which will host it from February 27 to July 4, 2027. It will then be on view at the Ziem Museum in Martigues from September 18, 2027, to January 31, 2028.
