**On Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20, take a behind-the-scenes look at the first sports facility built by the MEL, which opened in 1976 and is celebrating its 50th anniversary.**
Built in 1975 and inaugurated in 1976, Le Stadium, located in Villeneuve d’Ascq, is the first sports facility of the European Metropolis of Lille. Today, it spans 15 hectares and includes a 10,000-seat main stadium and several multifunctional sports areas. Its versatile and very well-maintained facilities have allowed it to host numerous events for over 40 years, ranging from national and international sporting events to concerts.
