Description

The Maison Folie Moulins, located in the heart of the dynamic and popular Moulins district, is one of Lille?s cultural highlights. Housed in a former 19th-century brewery, it was transformed for Lille 2004 ? European Capital of Culture, an event that had a profound impact on the city and enabled several industrial sites to be rehabilitated as artistic venues. The building?s metamorphosis was entrusted to architects Baron and Louguet, who preserved the site?s charm while adapting it to new cultural uses. Today, Maison Folie Moulins is a multi-disciplinary cultural factory, open to residents and visitors alike. It features performance and exhibition halls, artist residencies and a welcoming inner courtyard, the heart of the site. It hosts a varied program of concerts, shows, open-air performances, exhibitions and creative workshops, as well as major events such as the Mois de la Marionnette and Bienvenue à Moulins. Maison Folie Moulins also plays an essential role in supporting local creativity. It accompanies numerous artists in residence and develops cultural action projects for families, schools and local audiences. Its proximity to Le Flow, a center dedicated to urban culture, further enriches its artistic possibilities, thanks to a shared exhibition and performance space.
